HANDY THINGS FOR PARENTS TO KNOW:
YOUR BEST FRIEND
The first thing you need to do in baseball is find out who
your team manager is before anything else!
The team manager will have all information
on hand regarding games,
practices and anything else you might have questions about. If your manager can not help you he/she can
either find
out for you or they can point you in the right direction. The team manager is also the person to relay
any information from the parents to the coach,
baseball committee vice versa. It
is always good to get feedback from parents. The team managers are the
communicators and make sure everybody knows what is going on, at all times. Ashley Baseball Club also has meetings periodically
and all parents are encouraged to come along
and share there views.
THINGS NEEDED FOR
BASEBALL
The uniform: KZN
Baseball stipulates that all children need to be dressed in full uniform for
games. If this is not complied with,
Ashley
Baseball Club receives a fine. The
uniform is as follows: White sumis, black socks, takkies or soccer boots
(no
metal cleats allowed for juniors), Ashley shirt and Ashley cap. Please make sure all of your child’s
belongings are
marked to prevent confusion.
Contact person for shirts and caps is Christene Nyland.
Equipment: All children must have their own mits! Each team has a kitbag with the other
equipment needed for training and games.
We request that the children look after the Club’s equipment, and they are expected to pack up the kitbag
after practice and games. If you want to
buy mits, sumis or any other equipment you can contact one of the following
people: Sharon Nel – 082 4014 727, or Brandon Richards - 083 9993 142
